Long used for commercial purposes to advertise sales or specials, or to simply draw attention to a business or event, feather flags are now becoming increasingly popular for spirited homeowners looking to support their favorite sports team, looking to promote an event such as a car wash, garage sale or open house, or simply for those interested in adding interest and color to their yard.
So what exactly is a feather flag? Feather flags, also sometimes called flutter flags, are tall and thin flags, usually made out of nylon, that are attached to a pole that is either permanently secured to the ground or that is portable so that it can easily be moved. They are usually around eight to ten feet tall and are attached to poles that range in height from ten to twelve feet in length, although for residential purposes, you can find smaller ones as well, and some businesses use flags that are even taller than that. The tall thin flags flutter in the wind and easily grab the attention of anyone in the vicinity of the flag.

So, if you are ordering them for a business, you can get the feathered flags in any color you want, with any logo added, and with any text, information or photos you provide. While most feather flags are still customized and are used for advertising purposes, there are other options in addition to the custom feather flags available.
You can now find stock feather flags that look more like banners for professional sports teams, NASCAR, and colleges that you can buy at reasonable prices, without the need for ordering a custom feather flag (which you couldn’t do anyway for a sports team because of copyright infringement). The feather banner flags are a fun way to show your team spirit, whether they are planted in your front yard or backyard, are setup when you tailgate, or come along for the ride even when you head out on a road trip.
Feather flags are also a great way to create a striking and colorful display when you are having an event. Since they are so tall and colorful, they really make a big statement when they are displayed outdoors and catch your eye as they blow in the wind. While many promotional product companies can customize feather flags, finding in stock sports team flags or other types of flags that would be used in residential locations may be more difficult to do unless you find them online. Feather flag prices vary considerably, depending on the size of the flag, the material the flag is made from, whether the flag is customized, and what type of base the flag comes with (you can buy replacement feather flags without the base also), and feather flag prices can range from $30 – $50 each for in stock flags to well over $100 for customized feather flags.
So, while a feather flag may not be the most common accessory displayed in a residential setting, it is certainly one that will garner a great deal of attention!
